According to reports, Kahwagi had a romance with the presenter Galilea Montijo between 2002 and 2005; despite the attention they both received, neither confirmed their courtship and the details were kept secret.

The businessman also had a fleeting five-month romance with singer Ana Bárbara back in 2005. People magazine reported that the couple had ended their relationship due to scheduling conflicts and the little time they had to be together.

In 2013, Jorge was accused of having beaten his then-partner, Ana Gabriela González Sánchez, in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. It was reported that he left her unconscious after the beating.
Later, regarding the reports, Kahwagi denied the accusation and said he had never hit Gabriela González. Amidst the controversy, it was reported in the Mexican press that, in addition to the beating, he threatened her with a gun in hand and fractured her skull and cheekbone.
