went to the Mexico City Attorney General's Office this Wednesday, October 7, to expand her complaint against for alleged health crimes and possible homicide related to the death of Julián Figueroa. Upon leaving the premises, the actress had an encounter with the media where she mentioned that she only seeks to clarify various facts related to her son's death, while also admitting that at some point, Imelda was an "important part of her life."

The dispute between Maribel Guardia and Imelda Tuñón took a new turn this Wednesday, October 7, 2026, after the actress went to the prosecutor's office to ratify and follow up on the complaint filed against her former daughter-in-law.

Maribel arrived accompanied by her legal team and, on the advice of her lawyers, avoided revealing details of the investigation file. The lawyer, Alonso Beceiro, said that the reason for his client's presence at the prosecutor's facilities was to "expand her complaint, provide initial evidence, and give continuity to this file so that it is resolved in accordance with the law."

For her part, the 67-year-old celebrity said regarding the legal process against her former daughter-in-law: "I wouldn't want anyone to be harmed by this, but there are too many facts involved that I would like to see clarified."

Regarding the subject of her grandson, she expressed her desire to see him but considered it complicated to achieve; when asked if there is a possibility that she might sit down to talk with Imelda to resolve the conflict, she neither confirmed nor dismissed that alternative, simply making it clear that the child has the right to spend time with his paternal family. Likewise, she reiterated that she does not know the whereabouts of José Julián.

"God bless her (...) I swear to God that I always wish her well because at some point she was a very important part of my life and I always wished her well. If I ever took initiative, it was for her to be well," she emphasized.

Why did Maribel Guardia file a complaint against Imelda Tuñón?

The origin of the new complaint lies in statements that Imelda Tuñón made publicly regarding the medications she obtained for Julián Figueroa.

The singer's widow recounted that she had lied to a psychiatrist about her own symptoms to obtain medications that Julián later consumed due to anxiety and sleep problems.

Following those statements, Maribel Guardia's lawyer, Alonso Beceiro, explained that the actress decided to approach the authorities so that the manner in which those medications were obtained and supplied could be investigated, and whether there is any link between those facts and Julián's death.
