FIFA has reduced the price of some 2026 World Cup tickets reserved for the most loyal fans of qualified national teams following an adverse global reaction. Some fans will be able to purchase tickets for $60 for the final, rather than having to pay $4,185.
The governing body stated that tickets under the "basic stand" category will be made available for $60 for each of the 104 matches of the tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Fans around the world reacted with surprise and indignation last week upon seeing FIFA's ticket sales plans, which did not offer the participating teams tickets in the lowest price category.
The cheapest prices ranged between $120 and $265 for group stage matches that did not involve the three co-host countries.

FIFA received harsh criticism, especially in Europe, for its World Cup ticket pricing strategy, which includes so-called "dynamic pricing" and acting as its own resale platform.
When announcing the $60 ticket plan, FIFA indicated that "as a non-profit organization, it reinvests the revenue generated by the World Cup to promote the growth of men's, women's, and youth soccer" across its 211 member federations.
