After scoring his first goal with the Mexican National Team against Colombia, the 17-year-old young talent has reportedly re-sparked the interest of the biggest teams in Spain, Real Madrid and Barcelona—two clubs that, according to information from the Spanish newspaper AS, are keeping the Xolos de Tijuana footballer under observation.
After scoring against Colombia in the debut of Rafael Márquez as head coach of the Mexican National Team, "Morita" became the youngest player to score for 'El Tri'. In addition to this milestone, being handed the legendary number 10 jersey and his time at the 2026 World Cup appear to be the prelude to what may await him in the future.

According to the Spanish press, Real Madrid and Barcelona have him “absolutely monitored.” The interest is not new: both clubs have reportedly been following his development since his international debut. Another element that could facilitate an eventual approach is the relationship both clubs maintain with Rafaela Pimenta, the footballer's agent.
For the moment, there is no confirmation of an approach from either club or any possibility of Gilberto Mora signing a contract with either, as he is still 17 years old and has a current contract with Xolos.

Almost simultaneously, the team owner, Jorge Hank, spoke about Mora's possible European signing. The businessman expressed a desire for the young player to explore elite soccer and highlighted that the decision will be in his hands once he is of legal age.
"I hope he goes to Europe, and not because I'm biased, but it's a different level. He will learn a lot, he will practice a ton, and we will have him on the National Team in four years," he said.
In addition to the two Spanish clubs, his name has been linked to teams such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Borussia Dortmund.
