How many years must one work to retire at 53?
To access this option, women must prove 28 or more years of contributions.
Who CANNOT retire at 53?
The following cannot retire at this age:
-People who do not belong to the Tenth Transitory regime
-Workers contributing under the ordinary Individual Accounts regime
-Women who have not accumulated at least 28 years of contributions
-Men who have not accumulated at least 30 years of contributions.
What is the ISSSTE Tenth Transitory?
The Tenth Transitory corresponds to the pension regime applicable to certain workers who remained in the previous modified scheme of the ISSSTE Law.
PENSIONISSSTE explains that this regime corresponds, among other cases, to workers who were active as of March 31, 2007, and chose to remain in the previous modified regime, as well as those who did not state their preference and were active when the 2007 ISSSTE Law came into effect.
