The new CEO of Apple, John Ternus, announced his first foldable phone this Wednesday, dubbed the 'iPhone Duo', which is similar in size to a "passport" when closed—featuring a 5.4-inch screen—and will cost $1,999 (approx. 37,500 Mexican pesos).
When the screen is unfolded, the new model reaches a size of 7.6 inches, the largest seen to date on an iPhone.

"We started with the experience we wanted for ourselves: a larger screen that felt as natural and intuitive as the iPad. Then, we combined a thoughtful design with revolutionary technology," explained Ternus at the presentation event at the company's headquarters in Cupertino (California).
The model is reminiscent of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 from the South Korean company Samsung, which launched its first foldable model more than seven years ago.
However, the new Apple leader defended in his presentation that the 'iPhone Duo' has the best design.
"Others have created foldable devices that simply look like two phones awkwardly joined together. The result is a square screen that is poorly suited to the way people use them. Scrolling through vertical content is not fluid, and movies end up boxed in between huge black bars, making a large screen look much smaller," he stated.
