Elon Musk is once again at the center of controversy over his children; according to reports, he expressed his fear of a possible civil war and told his ex-partner and mother of one of his 14 heirs, Ashley St. Clair, that he needed to have a “legion of children” before it occurred.
The revelation is part of Musk, a new documentary by filmmaker Alex Gibney, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival this week.
According to St. Clair, who was previously a supporter of Donald Trump's MAGA movement, Musk wrote in a text message that he wanted to have a child with her because he needed a “legion of children before the civil war”.
Both personalities had a child in secret in 2024; shortly after, controversy erupted between them when the baby's birth was made public and Musk showed little interest or desire to publicly acknowledge his paternity.

The influencer also claimed that the businessman's team offered her 40 million dollars and a monthly allowance of 100,000 dollars in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement, a proposal that, according to her account, was withdrawn after she refused.
When asked if her ex-partner simply fears a civil war or if he is trying to provoke one, she replied that, regardless of his intentions, she believes his posts are “fanning flames” that do not exist in the real world and that could have consequences.
“Whatever it is, what he is doing with this platform on X cannot be ignored, because he is fanning flames that do not exist in the real world,” she noted.
Following the documentary's premiere in Venice, St. Clair also leveled criticism at Musk's political foray and his ties to Trump, as well as the influence he wields on X, where he addresses different topics regarding public, business, social, and technological life, including the possibilities of an imminent civil war outbreak.
“He is creating something that is having real-world repercussions with all these contributions to X. I think he is causing a deliberate division that could be catastrophic if it is not regulated or controlled, or if we don't do our part to stop it,” the influencer warned.
Regarding the subject of the civil war and Musk's fear, the documentary's director, Gibney, linked the businessman's fear of a possible global collapse to his “difficult and traumatic” childhood.
“He had a very difficult and traumatic childhood. To some extent, if I had to psychoanalyze the situation, I would say he is now projecting that trauma onto the rest of us,” the filmmaker asserted.
