A private light aircraft, apparently an executive jet, crashed this Monday morning during its approach to Toluca International Airport, causing a major fire and a plume of smoke visible for several kilometers.

According to preliminary reports, the aircraft—allegedly a Cessna Citation III with registration XA-PRO—had departed from Acapulco, Guerrero, and crashed in the San Pedro Totoltepec industrial zone, specifically near warehouses located in the Automotive Industry corridor and Miguel Alemán Boulevard.

Following the impact, the private jet caught fire, which forced the rapid intervention of firefighters, Civil Protection, State Police, and emergency medical services. Authorities managed to control the fire and cordoned off the area as a preventive measure, asking the public to avoid the area due to dense smoke and rescue operations.

So far, there are no reported victims on the ground.
