According to initial reports, local authorities stated they received the first emergency call at approximately 1:51 in the afternoon on Sunday.
According to the information provided, an acquaintance of Panettiere alerted emergency services after finding her unresponsive in a Greenville apartment.
During the call, the operator reported a possible cardiac arrest, and subsequently, a man was heard mentioning a suspected overdose, though without specifying what kind.
Upon the arrival of first responders, paramedics and officers performed resuscitation maneuvers, including chest compressions, but the actress was declared dead at the scene just over 40 minutes later.
The death of the celebrity from Malcolm in the Middle and Bring It On occurs amid questions about her final hours, as she had traveled from Los Angeles to South Carolina one day before her death, on Saturday, August 15, accompanied by Hickerson, with whom she had a relationship marked by episodes of domestic violence.
