Once again, Elon Musk is at the center of a new controversy, now surrounding the way he treated his ex-wife while they were married. What is happening with the businessman? Below, we give you all the details.
Justine Musk, the billionaire's ex, claimed that her marriage made her feel "insignificant" and that she learned the term "gaslighting" from her relationship with the founder of Tesla and SpaceX in the early 2000s.
Her controversial statements are part of Musk, the new four-hour documentary directed by Alex Gibney and presented this week during the 2026 Venice Film Festival.
In the film, 54-year-old Justine stated that her then-husband constantly pointed out her alleged shortcomings and compared the way he spoke to her to the relationship between a boss and an employee.

She even recalled an uncomfortable episode experienced at their wedding, held in January 2000, when, according to her version, Musk told her he was "the alpha in the relationship" while they were dancing.
This is not the first time Justine has spoken about what she experienced within the marriage and what it was like to have a businessman with such fame and influence as a husband. The writer had already recounted that same experience in an essay published by Marie Claire in 2010.
The former couple had six children during their relationship: twins Griffin and Vivian, triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, and Nevada, who died at 10 weeks old in 2002.
In the documentary, Justine also questioned a version that Musk had previously shared about Nevada's final moments and asserted that she was the one who held her daughter when she passed away.
In addition to these controversial statements, another topic addressed was the estrangement between Musk and his daughter Vivian Wilson, who is transgender. Justine stated that her ex-husband "never tried to fix things" with her, although, according to her account, he asked her to pass a message to Vivian: "I will always love her."
It is worth mentioning that Musk disowned his daughter when she began her transition during the pandemic and accused "woke" or "progressive" thinking of having killed her; in this sense, it is known that Elon holds far-right conservative ideals.
Justine also spoke about some of Musk's alleged insecurities related to his appearance. According to her testimony, the businessman expressed that he could not look "cool or trendy" because he needed to maintain an image associated with that of an engineer.
Musk presents a critical look at the personal and professional life of the founder of Tesla and SpaceX and was filmed over several years by Gibney. The world's richest man did not participate in the production and previously described the project as a "defamatory attack." The documentary is scheduled for release on October 16.
