The midterm elections on November 3rd in the United States have left behind new and striking profiles among elected officials, and one of them is Democrat Rob Sand, the future governor of the state of Iowa, who worked as a model in Milan in the early 2000s.
Sand, whom the American press has compared to former President John F. Kennedy, worked as a model in Europe when he was young, using it to pay for part of his university studies. He studied political science at Brown University and earned a law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law.
The Democrat went on to walk for Giuliano Fujiwara, the Japanese brand Number (N)ine, and Prada, according to Newsweek magazine.

Beyond his past as a model, Sand, who was born and raised in Iowa, is a politician who has become known to his neighbors through a campaign that was very close to them, showing his concern for their daily problems and trying to distance himself from national polarization.
The 44-year-old politician, who has succeeded in returning the governorship of a Republican-leaning state to the Democrats after twenty years, focused on support for cancer patients in the state, which has the second-highest incidence in the country.
He knew how to capitalize on and understand the concerns of his neighbors, such as water quality and its impact on the health of Iowa residents.
Sand defeated Republican Zach Lahn by eleven percentage points and will succeed Republican Kim Reynolds, who was not seeking reelection, as governor.
The New York Times included him in May on a list of "presidential prospects" for 2028.
