Roberto Velasco speaks at the UN: this is the chancellor's message at the General Assembly

Roberto Velasco, Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Affairs, is participating this Friday in the final day of the United Nations General Assembly debate, where he presented part of the Mexican government's position to the international community.

During his intervention, Velasco placed special emphasis on issues related to economic development and security. Although the chancellor did not directly mention Donald Trump, his statements contrasted with some of the comments that the U.S. government has made regarding the security situation in Mexico.

During his speech before the UN General Assembly last Tuesday, Trump reiterated that Mexico represents, according to his position, "the epicenter of cartel violence." The politician has maintained this claim at various times since he returned to the White House in January 2025.
