California authorities are investigating the death of Presley Gerber, the eldest son of Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, as a possible overdose.

In a statement, Santa Monica police reported that they responded to a call regarding a possible overdose around 9:35 am (16:00 GMT) and that when officers arrived, they found a man dead.
"At this time, there are no indications of foul play," authorities wrote in the statement, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
Presley died at 27 in a rehabilitation center, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner's registry published on its website.
In a statement, the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner assured that the report on the cause and manner of death of the model had been deferred due to additional studies requested to reach a conclusion.
"Because the death investigation is ongoing, the Department of Medical Examiner cannot disclose what tests and/or studies were requested. In deferred cases, the determination of the cause of death can take several months," it noted.
A family representative stated to People magazine and other media: "The family asks for privacy during this very difficult and painful time."
Gerber followed in his mother's footsteps and began modeling in his teens after signing with the agency IMG Models. Throughout his career, he walked for high-fashion brands such as Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Moschino.
He made his runway debut at 16 in a Moschino show held in Los Angeles. In 2018, he experienced one of the most publicized moments of his career when he starred alongside his mother in a Pepsi Super Bowl ad, in which they both paid tribute to the commercial the supermodel had starred in back in 1992.
