Meghan Markle is back in the middle of controversy after a member of the MasterChef Australia production team claimed that working with the Duchess of Sussex was a "very toxic" experience. The statements quickly went viral and reignited the debate about Prince Harry's wife's relationship with the work teams on the projects in which she participates.
For years, the former actress from the series "Suits" has been known as the "difficult duchess," a nickname given to her by people who have worked with her because they have complained about her attitude and the way she wants to control everything around her.
Recently, the duchess made a special appearance on the program MasterChef Australia, where she tasted the participants' dishes and participated in the dynamics of the famous cooking reality show.
Her appearance drew much criticism, especially when Prince Harry also participated, supposedly as a surprise, via a video call—a situation that most fans of the royal family and royal experts considered "staged" for the sole purpose of increasing their popularity.
Amid all the accusations and criticism, a member of the MasterChef production team revealed to RadarOnline that the experience of working with Meghan Markle was complicated and described the work environment as "very toxic," similar to what was experienced with Ellen DeGeneres, who was accused of fostering a toxic work environment, harassment, and hostility.
Likewise, Meghan allegedly showed no familiarity with the successful cooking competition or even its most basic format. "One of my sources said they treated her almost like she needed a guide dog (..) They were moving her around the stage because she didn't really know how long the show lasted. She didn't know if it was a half hour or an hour. Just the basics. She didn't care. I've been told the whole experience was really frustrating," revealed Rob Shuter on Maureen Callahan's podcast, The Nerve.
He added: "The cast and crew were really disappointed (...) a person close to the show told me that the last time they had worked on a show with such a toxic environment was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It usually wasn't like that."
Furthermore, the expert commented that the Duchess of Sussex had unprofessional attitudes: "When they took a lunch break, she became difficult. When they told her what they had to do, she became difficult. When the producers wanted to give her instructions, she became difficult," he claimed.
