British actor and Californian actress landed this Monday in the Mexican capital to present 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', the new installment of the superhero with which the couple returned to weave their chemistry on screen in this production that will premiere on July 29 in international theaters.

"What makes so special is how human he is; he can be your father, your brother, your cousin, your best friend, he can be whatever you need. I think it is his simplicity that makes the character so special," affirmed Zendaya to EFE during the film's red carpet.

The heroic duo appeared on the Ferris wheel at Chapultepec Park, known as the 'Rueda de la Fortuna en México', wearing black outfits sprinkled with spiderwebs and spider-shaped brooches.

Both were accompanied by the film's director, Destin Daniel Cretton, known for having worked with Marvel on the film 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' (2021).

"We are very excited to be here," confessed the actors, to which the 29-year-old American performer added: "Presenting this film is one of the most heartwarming moments of my career."

In 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', Peter Parker (Holland) will have the mission of recovering his friends and his beloved MJ (Zendaya) after the events of the previous 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' (2021) and protecting them without revealing that in addition to being their old friend, he is also the man behind the spider hero's mask.

While the more than a thousand attendees at the open event applauded, the cast of the newly released 'The Odyssey' by Christopher Nolan projected a video in which they discovered that there is a neighborhood called La Araña in the Mexican capital.

"It is incredible to have two nationalities," joked Zendaya upon hearing the popular chant of "sister, you are now Mexican," which Holland himself also received.

Trabajar con grandes de la industria

After the initial cheers, Holland confessed that the hardest thing was choosing just one moment from the ten years he has been bringing Spider-Man to life. Even more complicated, he said, was pointing out the co-star with whom he has enjoyed working the most and from whom he has learned the most during the filming of the last four films of the hero born in the Queens district of New York.

"Robert Downey Jr. has been a great teacher and leader for all of us who have worked in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). I have learned a lot from Benedict Cumberbatch, from Mark Ruffalo; they are good friends of mine," he responded regarding his co-stars who have brought Iron Man, Hulk, or Doctor Strange to life in other installments.

In addition, he assured that what he enjoys most about his work is learning from "titans" like Mark Ruffalo or Robert Downey Jr., although he especially highlighted the opportunity to participate in productions of this magnitude, whose budget is estimated at around 200 million dollars.

With this film, Holland wanted to create an installment with a more mature character and commit to stunt scenes like jumping in freefall from a skyscraper with a miniature camera system inside the suit pointing directly at his eye and capturing 420 frames per second.

"For me, every day is a new experience from which to learn," confessed the 30-year-old Briton.

Finally, he promised his followers that, since his 2017 debut with 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', this will be the "freshest, most unique, and action-packed" film of those he has starred in as the wall-crawler.
