Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has acknowledged that he has suffered racism "a thousand times," although he has considered that sometimes people are "indirectly racist" and "without realizing it," though he noted that "what is wrong can never be accepted."
"A thousand times (I have felt racism). People are indirectly racist toward you, even if they don't realize it. There are many comments or looks that are racist and they don't realize it," the Spanish international stated in an excerpt from an interview on the program 'Universo Valdano,' which will air this Friday, posted on social media.

Lamine Yamal referred to his origins in the Rocafonda neighborhood of Mataró as an explanatory factor for how he handles these attitudes: "I've come from a place where, it's not that it's accepted because what's wrong can never be accepted, but it doesn't bother you (that it happens)."
And he gave a recent example that he experienced at the Santiago Bernabéu:
"The video that came out where they were saying everything to me and Raphinha, and people were surprised by my reaction. Someone calling me Black is not going to bother me at all, I am Black. It's another thing that it is wrong, because he says it to offend me, but if I am playing a match and he has paid for a ticket to see me, I am not going to get angry because they have disrespected me."
