Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes received a 10-match suspension for his involvement in a brawl at the end of the World Cup final against Spain last month.

FIFA announced on Friday that two other Argentine players, full-back Nahuel Molina and forward Thiago Almada, were also suspended for the incidents after Spain won 1-0 in the final.

At the same time, the governing body reported that the Argentine national team received a $321,000 fine for displaying a banner about the Malvinas Islands after their 2-1 victory in the semifinals against England.

Paredes received the most severe punishment: a 10-match suspension and a $90,000 fine. Molina was sanctioned with seven matches and a fine of the same amount.

Almada received a one-match suspension and a $30,000 fine, while assistant coach Roberto Ayala was sanctioned with three matches and a fine of the same amount.

Spanish midfielder Gavi was also sanctioned with a one-match suspension and a $30,000 fine.

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) indicated that it will appeal to FIFA's appeal committee and would eventually turn to the Court of Arbitration for Sport as a final instance.
