Yes, there will be school in basic education institutions, according to the official SEP calendar. The 2026-2027 school year will begin on Monday, August 31, so Tuesday, September 1, will be the second day of classes.
In addition, the calendar establishes the dates for the suspension of teaching activities for 2026, which are:

Why was September 1 previously associated with a rest day?
Labor legislation previously included a provision related to December 1 every six years, when the change in the Executive Power took place.
