Which days will there be no classes in September 2026?
According to the official SEP school calendar, the days there will be no classes in September are:
- 16 de septiembre (con motivo de la conmemoración de la Independencia de México)
- 25 de septiembre (se llevará a cabo el Consejo Técnico Escolar Sesión Ordinaria, generalmente ese día los alumnos no acuden a la escuela).
Will there be a long weekend for September 16th?
There will not be an official long weekend, as the SEP calendar establishes only Wednesday, September 16, as a day for the suspension of teaching duties. Monday, September 14, and Tuesday, September 15, appear as regular school days (the 15th is marked as a commemorative or reflection day).
However, we suggest you ask your child's school authorities directly, as some campuses could determine a suspension of activities.
Will there be classes on September 15, 2026?
Yes, September 15 is not marked as a suspension of teaching duties on the national SEP calendar. Therefore, barring individual modifications by any entity, school, or educational authority, there will be classes on Tuesday, September 15.
What other days will there be no classes during 2026 according to the SEP?
The dates are:

Additionally, the calendar includes the winter vacation period.
When will the December 2026 vacation be?
The SEP establishes a school break period from December 21, 2026, to January 5, 2027. School activities will resume afterwards.
