Diego Sebastián N, one of the defendants for the multiple homicide of Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist for Camilo Séptimo, allegedly tried to bribe agents of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) to let him escape, according to information released by journalist Carlos Jiménez, known as C4.
Through his social media, the journalist indicated that Diego Sebastián N allegedly offered 1.5 million pesos to the agents who participated in his capture in order to obtain his freedom.

According to the information attributed to Carlos Jiménez, Diego Sebastián N had transferred cryptocurrency to his wife, who was in Spain. After his arrest, he allegedly said that if they let him go, he would ask her to return the money so he could give the agents 1.5 million pesos in cryptocurrency.
Additionally, he allegedly offered to teach them how to convert the cryptocurrency into cash. The proposal was reportedly rejected by the agents.
What did the Edomex Prosecutor's Office say about the cryptocurrencies?
In a statement issued on Friday, September 4, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico reported that Diego Sebastián N and Gerardo N were allegedly searching Jonathan Meléndez's home for a “cold storage device with millions of dollars in Bitcoins”.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, both assumed the victims had a significant amount of money in cryptocurrency. Once they obtained the funds, Diego Sebastián N would allegedly give Gerardo N 2 million pesos “for his help”.
Likewise, it was revealed that a relative of the musician knew about the existence of a USB drive with information regarding 3 million pesos in cryptocurrency, which was not found at the scene.

What crimes are Diego Sebastián N and Gerardo N accused of?
After their capture, preventive detention was ordered for Diego Sebastián N and Gerardo N for their alleged participation in the multiple homicide that occurred at a home in Atizapán de Zaragoza, State of Mexico. Both are currently at the Tlalnepantla Social Reintegration Center, known as the Barrientos prison.
Diego Sebastián N and Gerardo N face the following charges:
- Homicidio calificado: por Jonathan Meléndez, su esposa Ana Paula, su hija Sofía y la trabajadora del hogar Aleyda Romero. Si se encuentran culpables, la pena podría ser de 25 a 70 años de prisión por cada víctima.
- Maltrato y crueldad a los seres sintientes: por la muerte de la mascota de la familia, un golden retriver de aproximadamente 1 año de edad. Por este delito, enfrentarían 3 a 6 años de prisión.
- Interrupción del embarazo: debido a que Ana Paula tenía 4 meses de embarazo. Por lo cual podrían enfrentar 5 a 10 años de prisión.
