A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook Bogotá and other cities in Colombia on Wednesday, causing no casualties so far but causing great fear among residents who just over two weeks ago suffered the ravages of a powerful earthquake.

Hundreds of people evacuated buildings amid the sound of sirens in the capital and the city of Bucaramanga, close to the epicenter, still fearful from the 7.4 magnitude earthquake on August 10.
Wednesday's earthquake occurred at a depth of 149 kilometers in Los Santos, a municipality in the department of Santander (northeast) with high seismic activity.
Colombia has entered the reconstruction and assistance phase for families left homeless by the earthquake, which has left more than 330 dead and thousands of buildings collapsed.
Right-wing President Abelardo de la Espriella declared an economic emergency due to the strongest earthquake recorded in Colombia this century.
The government estimates that the cost of rebuilding the affected areas will be around 9.57 billion dollars.
The most affected cities were Cali and Pereira, where thousands of homes, apartment buildings, hotels, and schools were destroyed or suffered structural damage.
