Following the murders of the Camilo Séptimo keyboardist, Jonathan ‘Honas’ Meléndez, his pregnant wife, his daughter, and their domestic worker, new details have been revealed regarding the alleged motive for the crime perpetrated by his partner, Diego Sebastián ‘N’.
Why was Jonathan ‘Honas’ Meléndez murdered?
According to reports, Diego Sebastián ‘N’ allegedly attacked the musician and his family inside an apartment in Atizapán, State of Mexico, to seize a memory stick that contained information regarding 30 million pesos in cryptocurrencies.
Data from journalist Carlos Jiménez (C4 Jiménez) points out that the alleged perpetrator of the multi-homicide went to the property of Meléndez, who was his partner, to steal a memory stick containing data related to that amount in Bitcoin. However, the situation spiraled out of control, leading him to kill the Camilo Séptimo keyboardist, his four-month-pregnant wife, his three-year-old daughter, their pet, and their domestic worker, identified as 21-year-old Aleyda Romero.
Versions suggest that the alleged attacker had planned the assault, arriving at the apartment to confront Honas' family while he was not there in order to pressure him into handing over the memory stick.

Regarding this information, the journalist stated: “The guy who murdered the @camiloVIImx keyboardist first said he was going for a 300,000 loan. Now he claims he was going to demand dollars and 30 million in Bitcoin, but things got out of hand and that is why he killed everyone.”
During an interview with Azucena Uresti, C4 commented that Diego ‘N’ pressured Meléndez to tell him where the cryptocurrency information and another amount in dollars were located. Allegedly, the musician's partner had a debt to cover and required that money.
The journalist also revealed that Diego ‘N’'s accomplice, Gerardo ‘N’, who was his driver on the day of the crime, showed his identification to gain access to the residential complex, which was photographed alongside license plates from a Chevrolet car swapped onto the gray Kia they used for transport.
“They changed the plates, I don't know if to throw people off the scent on the day of the crime, the plates were swapped,” he revealed. After finding inconsistencies regarding the plates, authorities from Atizapán, the Navy, and the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office managed to track down those responsible.

Jonathan ‘Honas’ Meléndez had allegedly alerted a friend before meeting with his partner.
Data not verified by the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office suggests that Jonathan alerted one of his friends, identified as 'Freddy', about the meeting he was going to have with Diego ‘N’ and asked him to call the authorities if he had not heard from him within a certain amount of time.
Regarding the version from Jonathan's friend, the journalist said that the alleged culprit had demanded 300,000 pesos from the musician linked to a debt he had with one of the vacation homes in Valle de Bravo that they rented out in their business.
After not hearing from the keyboardist for four hours, the friend arrived at his apartment along with the apartment complex guards; when knocking on the door, Diego ‘N’ responded, telling him he could not open it.
The friend, realizing it was not Honas, left to look for the police. Around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, the friend arrived with the municipal police, the Navy, and the mother of the apartment owner, who opened the door for them.
According to Jiménez, both Jonathan and Diego ‘N’ had indeed agreed to a meeting and even said they met hours earlier to play padel in the same residential complex. Later on Tuesday, the assailant went up in the elevator alone with a backpack containing the firearm and a silencer.
When the authorities arrived, they saw the family dead in different parts of the apartment, found Jonathan's eldest son alive under a bed, and found parts of the place ransacked, with drawers and doors open, which could suggest that the suspect was searching for the memory stick.
