With the 2026 back-to-school season drawing near, the Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) has announced the 2026 Back to School Fair, an initiative that seeks to help Mexican families reduce spending on school supplies, uniforms, and other items necessary for the start of the new school year.
The agency reported that this program will take place in Mexico City and at more than 50 locations distributed across different states of the country, allowing thousands of parents to find options to protect their finances before the start of classes.

The 2026 Back to School Fair in Mexico City will be held on August 15 and 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The venue will be Expo Reforma, located at Morelos 67, Juárez neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc borough.

In addition, Profeco reported that the fairs will be held in a staggered manner in different entities of the country until September 4, and invited families to consult the official microsite to find the dates and locations corresponding to their state.

The main objective of these fairs is to support family finances during one of the most expensive seasons of the year.
Each school cycle involves the purchase of school supplies, backpacks, uniforms, footwear, books, and various materials, which is why the Prosecutor's Office promotes this program to provide options that allow for informed purchases and encourage responsible consumption.
As part of this strategy, the agency also made the August edition of the Consumer Magazine available to consumers, focused on offering recommendations for saving during the back-to-school season and choosing products with better value for money.

In addition to the event to be held in Mexico City, Profeco confirmed that more than 50 Back to School Fairs will be set up in different states of the country.
Dates will vary by state and will run through the beginning of September, so authorities recommended checking the official calendar before attending.
