The music industry in Mexico is in mourning after the murder of Jonathan 'Honas' Meléndez, keyboardist for the indie rock band Camilo Séptimo, was announced. What is known about the case?

According to recent reports from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico, two men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Meléndez, as well as his four-month-pregnant partner, his 3-year-old son, their domestic worker, and their pet.

In its statement, authorities noted that the bodies of the victims were found, in addition to finding a six-year-old child alive and showing no signs of violence inside a penthouse in Zona Esmeralda, Atizapán, State of Mexico.

According to the report, municipal authorities were notified of the crime on Tuesday, September 1st at 11:50 PM: "The victims, a 38-year-old male, a music producer and composer with the initials J.S.M.O., his 35-year-old pregnant wife, their 3-year-old daughter, a 21-year-old female, and even a canine, the family pet, which was also found bound."

The Prosecutor's Office indicates that two victims were found bound, the minor child with a gunshot wound to the head, while the fourth victim had a gunshot wound in the back. Apparently, the events took place in the apartment between 5:30 PM and 7:40 PM.

In collaboration with the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSCDMX), the Prosecutor's Office arrested Diego 'N', the alleged culprit of the multiple homicide and a business partner of Jonathan Meléndez, in addition to Gerardo 'N', suspected of having participated in the crime.

After the details of the multiple homicide were released, journalist Carlos Jiménez (C4Jiménez) shared images of the crime scene, as well as surveillance videos from the moment the alleged perpetrator of the crime arrived at the property.

It appears that Diego 'N' argued with 'Honas' because he had refused him a loan of 300,000 pesos; he later carried out the crime, and Gerardo 'N' helped him escape. This information has not yet been verified by the relevant authorities.
