Huracán Simón sube a categoría 2 y amenaza con fuertes lluvias a Puerto Vallarta: trayectoria y estados afectados
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, assured this Friday that Russia will deliver tons of diesel to the American and global markets following a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I just finished an extremely successful conversation with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in which it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global markets; another 500,000 tons during the month of November and 1,000,000 tons immediately after," the president wrote on his Truth Social network.
Trump added that "in addition, depending on the state of their diesel refineries, Russia will subsequently deliver—in a short period of time—3,000,000 tons of diesel fuel."
The president linked this announcement to the war in Iran and assured that thanks to total control of the Strait of Hormuz and "this great announcement regarding Russian energy, diesel prices for Americans—and, in fact, for the whole world—will drop drastically and at great speed."
Trump considers this a measure "of great importance" and assures that the goal is "to achieve lower prices for Americans, especially for our magnificent farmers, ranchers, and truckers, [which] is my top priority."
The announcement comes at a time of maximum concern at the White House and in the Republican Party due to data from polls ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, which give the Democrats a lead of about seven points.
Polls show that traditionally Republican territories are supporting the Democrats, especially due to public unrest over high gasoline prices and difficulties in meeting the cost of living.
Throughout this week, Trump had already pointed to the possibility of a conversation with Putin, although in the context of obtaining information on the Russian plague that ended the life of a laboratory worker in Siberia.
