Edwin Luna, leader of La Trakalosa de Monterrey, revealed through his Instagram account that he and his wife, Kimberly Flores, are taking a “break” in their relationship after nine years together.
The singer of “Fíjate Que Sí” clarified in his statement that “before any information about our lives arrives through other voices, we want this to be known directly from us.”
Luna explained that the “break” in his relationship with the Guatemalan model and businesswoman does not mean that “we will stop being present for each other,” as he assured that they remain “united by affection, friendship, respect, and above all, by the love for our children and our family.”
On the other hand, he pointed out that this is not “a definitive separation,” but rather that they both want to give themselves the opportunity to “look at each other like at the beginning, like two people who love each other, who are trying to understand each other and discover, calmly and without pressure, if they can choose each other again.”
The leader of La Trakalosa de Monterrey expressed that they are not looking for “anyone to blame” or making “accusations.” Furthermore, he added that they are both trying to make the “best decisions” so that their children and loved ones “are as little affected as possible.”
Finally, he made a plea to his fans and the media that “any version other than our own be taken with caution and that they allow us to go through this process in private.”
Was there infidelity between Kimberly Flores and Edwin Luna?
After the news was announced, rumors of Kimberly Flores' alleged infidelity resurfaced on social media.
In 2021, it was rumored that the Guatemalan model and businesswoman had allegedly been unfaithful to Edwin Luna with actor Roberto Romano during her participation in Telemundo's La Casa de los Famosos.
At the time, Luna denied the rumors in an interview with Azucena Cierco.
“For four years they have told me the same thing, they have criticized me the same, they have sung me the same song, they have said that we are not going to last. It’s the same (infidelity rumors), they had already happened, for me my wife is not doing anything wrong... I am falling more in love with my wife, I feel that way when I see everything that is being said, when someone truly misses you and she is showing that to me.”
However, Kimberly Flores' stay inside the reality show was brief. After two weeks in the house, Luna visited her to ask her to withdraw from the competition, as rumors about an alleged infidelity with her castmate Roberto Romano had begun to affect his family, mainly Elián, his eldest son.
“Elián saw some notes about you and started screaming that you are a prostitute, that when you got home he was going to throw you out, that he didn't want you with us,” the singer told her to convince her to leave and return to her family.
After leaving the reality show, both reconciled and took couples therapy.
“It helped us a lot to value each other. We went to a psychiatrist as a couple, we talked, and we healed the relationship. It was the best thing that could have happened to me, having entered and left the house. Three years later, our love is reinforced,” Kimberly assured in an interview with Andrés Salazar, “El Topo,” from “La Mejor FM.”
