A new book exploring the romances of , the 35th president of the , has revealed details about his controversial relationship with a 19-year-old White House intern in 1962.

According to Laurence Leamer, author of the book "Ladies’ Man: The Careless Heart of John F. Kennedy," the then-president allegedly took the virginity of Marion "Mimi" Beardsley in his wife's bedroom after inviting her on a private tour of the residence.

Leamer described the encounter as painful for Beardsley, as it was her "first time." However, he noted that Kennedy showed "concern" upon seeing her in pain.

"Before she realized what was happening, the president had already penetrated her and was pulling up his trousers. Beardsley lay on the bed, feeling pain. Much of that pain was because it was her first time. The president turned to her, showing concern," Leamer detailed.

"When he became more affectionate and attentive, more aware of my presence... I really felt close to him," Beardsley expressed regarding her encounter with Kennedy.

The book also relates that the relationship between Beardsley and Kennedy continued after that encounter.

They both swam together in the White House pool, and the young intern reportedly spent nights with the president when the first lady, Jacqueline Kennedy, was away. She even allegedly accompanied him on trips abroad.

The relationship did not go unnoticed by White House staff or some journalists, who even saw the young woman getting off the presidential plane.

However, the relationship between Beardsley and Kennedy was kept under wraps for 40 years.
