The return of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the United Kingdom has once again put the spotlight on the fractured relationship between the Duke of Sussex and his older brother, Prince William. As Harry and Meghan begin a new chapter with their children, Archie and Lilibet, a new account regarding the heir to the throne's stance has caused a stir: William is reportedly unwilling to share public events with his brother.
The relationship between William and Harry remains distant, according to various reports and public statements from recent years. Unlike the relationship between Harry and his father, King Charles III, which has shown signs of rapprochement, the bond between the two brothers remains much more complicated.
In fact, during a visit by Harry to the United Kingdom in July, the family reunion with Charles took place privately, and there was no public meeting between Princess Diana's sons.
A source told RadarOnline that Prince William remains deeply upset with Harry and Meghan and is not prepared to appear alongside his brother at public events.
"William's position is that the fact that Harry decides to return to live in the United Kingdom does not suddenly repair their relationship, and he is not willing to appear next to him at official events simply to create photos that suggest otherwise," they indicated.
The insider added: "There is still great resentment over what William believes Harry and Meghan put Kate and the rest of the family through (...) his priority is to protect his wife and children, and he does not believe that geographical proximity forces him to socialize with Harry, neither in private nor in public. Charles may try to reconcile with his youngest son, but William is not in the same emotional state."
Could Harry and William appear together at an event?
For now, there is no official confirmation that William and Harry will soon share a public event. However, this coming August 31st will mark 29 years since the death of Princess Diana, so it is expected that her sons will hold some event in her memory.

The rift between the brothers deepened after Harry and Meghan stepped down from their duties as working members of the royal family in 2020 and moved to the United States.
Subsequently, the Sussexes spoke publicly about their experiences within the monarchy in interviews, audiovisual productions, and in Harry's memoir. William and Kate were among the family members mentioned in those revelations.
