The historic Mexican goalscorer spoke about the issue during the broadcast of ESPN's Fútbol Picante and made it clear that he was bothered that, after Borja's goal, practically no one mentioned his famous bicycle kicks.
"Since he scored that goal (Miguel Borja), journalists, announcers, and commentators, none were capable of saying: 'It made us remember Hugo Sánchez, in the style of Hugo Sánchez'," noted the former soccer player.

Although the 'Pentapichichi' did not question the quality of Miguel Borja's goal, he did complain that, from his perspective, the goal was not related to the legacy he built with these types of strikes.
"When they score a goal like that, similar to mine, it seems like they foam at the mouth or bleed when saying: 'Ah, look, it made us remember Hugo Sánchez'. And it makes me a little sad," he expressed.
The former striker even compared the situation with other countries, arguing that when an Argentine footballer performs a play that reminds people of Diego Maradona, there is usually a reference to the historic player's style; similarly, he used Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal as an example.
In his opinion, something similar should happen in Mexico when a player scores a goal that reminds people of one of his specialties (the bicycle kick).
