Mexican international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa announced his retirement from professional football this Tuesday after a 22-year career in which he participated in six World Cups, including the 2026 tournament.
"I gave it my all, I left everything on my teams and with the national team, and today I hand over my gloves," said Ochoa, 41, in a message posted on his social media, ending a career developed across nine clubs in seven countries and with the Mexican national team.

This is the message he posted on his Instagram account:
"I never imagined where a dream could take me. Today I can only look back with pride and say: THANK YOU"
Thanks to my family. Thanks to my teammates. Thanks to every fan who was present at every stage of the journey. I take with me the affection of millions and the peace of mind of having given everything for Mexico. What we lived through, no one can take away from us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for so much."
