Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarilla, who has been in the eye of the storm after launching racist insults against French footballer Kylian Mbappé, reported this Thursday that her Instagram account was hacked, stating that she will not be responsible "for anything published" under her name on this social network from now on.

"I am reporting that my Instagram account was hacked, possibly since this morning, so I am not responsible for anything published from there starting today," Amarilla informed on X.
Likewise, the lawmaker indicated that she is taking "the necessary steps" to ensure her protection and that of her followers, without providing further details.
Amarilla, 61, a second-tier politician in Paraguay, caused controversy last Saturday after stating on her social media that Mbappé "instead of his mother's milk, sucked coconuts and the most cultured thing he has ever heard in his life are chimpanzees," remarks that the UN, the French Football Federation, and French President Emmanuel Macron considered racist.
The parliamentarian also questioned the origin and nationality of the French attacker, pointing out that he is a "colonized Cameroonian" who pretends to be French.
The congresswoman reacted this way after Paraguay's elimination in the round of 16 of the World Cup against France, with a score of 0-1, specifically decided by a penalty goal scored by Mbappé, who according to the Paraguayan senator maintained an "arrogant" attitude during the match.
The Real Madrid footballer responded to the insults by calling the parliamentarian a "despicable woman unworthy of her office," remarks for which Amarilla demanded an apology from the player and announced she might sue him.
Amarilla's insults were also condemned by the Government and the Paraguayan Upper House of Congress, which the day before, through a resolution, distanced itself from the congresswoman's statements while expressing its "absolute rejection" of all forms of racism and discrimination.
