Mexican authorities arrested six alleged members of Los Deltas, the armed wing of the , this Sunday in the city of Zapopan, in the state of Jalisco, in an action that resulted in the seizure of weapons, vehicles, cash, synthetic drugs, and tactical and communication equipment.

Official sources informed EFE that the operation was carried out through three search warrants at an equal number of properties.

They also explained that Jeremi Carlos Sánchez Barbosa, Genaro García Zárate, Ángel Daniel Valdez Hernández, Jesús Javier Ruiz Montoya, Eric Daniel Martínez Huerta, and a minor were arrested at these locations.

"10 long guns, three handguns, magazines and ammunition of various calibers, doses of synthetic drugs, four motorcycles, a pickup truck and a vehicle, cash, tactical equipment, and telephone equipment were secured," the sources detailed regarding the seizure.

For its part, Mexico's Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) noted in a statement that Los Deltas is a criminal network "dedicated to robbery, extortion, drug dealing, and homicide" and the armed wing of the .

The capture comes in the same week that the United States government imposed sanctions on 55 Mexican individuals and companies allegedly linked to the CJNG, which has been considered a foreign terrorist organization by the administration since last year.

The CJNG is one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the world, and it was at the beginning of this year when its leader, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, was killed during an operation carried out by federal forces and U.S. authorities.
