The Attorney General's Office of Tamaulipas confirmed the arrest of Estrella ‘N’, alias Estrellita, the third person allegedly involved in the femicide of Dafne Zapata Quintos, the 13-year-old adolescent who died during a summer camp at a militarized academy in Ciudad Madero.
The arrest took place early this July 26, hours after the capture of the director of the Marina Doenitz Militarized Academy, Jorge ‘N’; both alleged suspects were brought before a judge to determine their legal status.
“Investigative police agents executed an arrest warrant against a woman for her probable participation in the events recorded on July 16, 2026, at a militarized academy located in the municipality of Ciudad Madero,” stated a release from the state prosecutor's office.
According to authorities, Estrellita was located at a residence in Ciudad Madero, where she was allegedly hiding. The woman is identified as one of those responsible for the operation of the academy and was in charge of the care of the adolescent girls enrolled in the school and attending the summer camp where Dafne died.

For his part, the man was captured for his “probable participation in the crime of femicide, related to the events recorded on July 13, 2026.” The prosecutor's office specified that he was arrested in the Los Encinos subdivision of Altamira.
According to the chronology of events and the statements made publicly by Dafne’s mother, Alejandra Quintos, Estrella maintained communication with her hours before the adolescent's death, and even asked for her authorization to take her to the doctor.
Estrella ‘N’ recounted what happened, with contradictory explanations and different versions, claiming that Dafne had an accident at the academy's facilities but that the situation was under control; she also said she bathed her before she died because she had vomited.
In a video sent by Dafne to her mother, the adolescent recounted her accident and claimed to be fine, although in the shot, she could be seen with bruises on her face. In this clip, the young girl asked that the images not be spread and that no one speak of the alleged mishap.
Subsequently, Estrella called Alejandra, first to ask her to come to the camp, and later to tell her it was not necessary. Finally, Estrella called her to tell her that the girl had fainted in the shower and no longer had vital signs.
According to forensic reports, Dafne Zapata died of asphyxiation by submersion. Given this, the Tamaulipas Prosecutor's Office reclassified the investigation as femicide. So far, there are three suspects arrested: Danna Yanina ‘N’, an assistant at the academy; Jorge ‘N’, the school's director; and Estrella ‘N’, allegedly involved in the adolescent's death.
Prior to the arrest of both suspects, authorities arrested the school's assistant Danna Yanina ‘N’, 18, for her possible participation in the death of Zapata Quintos.
