The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy warned this Friday that "zero hour" is approaching for a possible operation against United States Central Command (Centcom) naval units deployed in the region's waters, amid a growing escalation between the parties.

"The Americans are getting closer and closer to the zero hour of an operation against Centcom naval units in the region's waters," the Revolutionary Guard Navy command stated in a communique published alongside an image of a US aircraft carrier, according to the Tasnim agency.

The elite Iranian military corps said that "the movements and equipment of the terrorist US Army are under the surveillance of the Islamic Republic's naval units" and concluded its message with a brief warning: "Wait..."

The threat comes amid a new military escalation between Iran and the United States, with US strikes against southern Iranian territory and retaliatory operations by Tehran against US targets in several Middle Eastern countries.

The escalation began on Saturday after US President Donald Trump terminated the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran in mid-June due to Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

Furthermore, the US reimposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports and ships in Hormuz two days after Iran again declared the closure of the strategic maritime passage.

The Revolutionary Guard stated today in another communique that it maintains "total control" of the Strait of Hormuz and warned that as long as US actions continue, "not a single drop of oil or gas will be exported from this region."
