A helicopter crash in Brazil shocked social media following the death of Sofia Murillo, a 17-year-old Colombian influencer who lost her life alongside her mother, Wendy Manrique, 37, and her grandmother, Rocio Cubillos, 59, on August 8.

According to g1 and CNN Brazil, the influencer and her family were on vacation in Brazil to celebrate the 15th birthday of her cousin, Laura; they had arrived in the country on Monday and planned to stay until Tuesday of this week.
One of the tourist spots they were planning to visit was the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, so they had booked a 20-minute scenic helicopter tour with the company VRP (Voos Rio Panorâmicos e Serviços Aeronáuticos).
Sofia Murillo, her mother, and her grandmother boarded the flight at 11 a.m., while her uncle, Victor, his wife, Daniela, and their daughter, Laura, waited in the hangar to take a second flight.
According to reports, the family learned from an employee of the company that a forced landing had occurred. However, they were not given further details and discovered what had actually happened through news sites.
Although there are still no details on what caused the accident, it is known that the helicopter in which Murillo, her mother, and her grandmother were traveling crashed into a hillside, subsequently causing a fire that spread through the forest.
Military personnel specialized in firefighting arrived at the crash site, with approximately 40 soldiers, 11 vehicles, and four operational units deployed, according to data from g1.
In addition to Sofia Murillo, her mother, and her grandmother, the pilot, Alessandro Rocha, also died in the accident.

Following the death of Sofia Murillo, her uncle, Victor Manrique, shared moments on TikTok that he had enjoyed with his family in Brazil before the accident.
In the first video, Victor is seen with the rest of his family in front of the Christ the Redeemer statue. The post was accompanied by the phrase:
“My family. I will miss you every day of my life.”
In a second video, where his mother and sister appear on the beach, he wrote:
“Life goes by very fast, I missed giving you so much, I am left with an unpayable debt, I owe you everything. I just want to meet you and be able to hug you again. WE WERE HAPPY!!! That is how I will carry you in my heart always.”
In the comments, TikTok users wrote him words of support.
“There are no words for such great pain. May God give you and your entire family strength at this very difficult time,” wrote one.
Another user commented:
