David Bisbal experienced moments of anguish during the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that shook Colombia on August 10, which has left dozens dead and injured. The Spanish singer, who had arrived in the country at 3:30 a.m., hours before the quake, to film the final episodes of ‘Operación Triunfo Estados Unidos 2026’, where he is a judge, revealed that he felt panic, although fortunately nothing happened in Bogota.
On his social media, Bisbal posted a video showing how the lamp in his hotel room swayed from side to side while he prayed to the Virgin.
“An earthquake. I hope nothing happens. My God. Dammit. Please. Please, dear Virgin. Here we go, come on. Calm down. Come on. Stop. Dammit,” he says in the video.

Later, in a second video posted on his stories, David Bisbal explained that he had just woken up when the earthquake occurred and that, although he felt panic at first, everything ended after about a minute.
“The truth is that having woken up this morning with such a strong tremor in Bogota was a bit of a panic at first, but I realized immediately that after about a minute it was all over. A bunch of alarms started going off due to protocols in other buildings adjacent to mine, and luckily in Bogota nothing happened, but you have already seen the magnitude of this natural disaster, which was very strong in Cali and other inland provinces in Colombia,” he detailed.
The “Bulería” singer added that he was sending a hug to the people affected by the earthquake and that he would be posting information about aid through his social media.
“From here I want to send a huge greeting and a kiss to the people affected, and well, obviously we are all heartbroken, so I send them a very strong hug, and we are going to be providing some information regarding aid,” he explained.

David Bisbal was not the only celebrity who was in Colombia when the earthquake occurred. Ninel Conde was also in the country and described through her social media how she experienced the earthquake together with her niece and her puppy.
“You don't know the scare I got, we got... Bella was crying before it started to shake. We didn't know what to do because we were on the 14th floor. And that earthquake lasted for hours. I got under a table. I came out. I said, 'My God.' I called my husband, I went back under the table and it wouldn't stop moving,” she recounted.
The Mexican singer also assured that it was the worst earthquake she had ever experienced, despite having lived in Mexico City, a region characterized by its high seismic activity.
“It's the strongest earthquake I've felt in my life, and mind you, I've lived in Mexico City, where that is no game,” she explained.
