Laura Flores was at the Bogotá airport with her daughter when the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that shook Colombia today occurred. The Mexican actress shared videos on her social media to recount how she experienced the quake and stated that “it felt scary.”
The earthquake has left at least 111 dead so far, according to the latest reports, and authorities have already declared a national emergency.

In a video posted on her social media, Laura Flores explained that she was at the Bogotá airport with her daughter when the quake began.
“I am at the Bogotá airport with my daughter and it just shook hard; it lasted a long time, I think almost a minute, around 7.4. And in Bogotá it almost never shakes; I'm at the airport. Nothing happened, but everything moved and it was scary; it felt scary. I hope everyone is okay,” the actress explained.
Flores also declared that she was surprised by the lack of protocols that she observed in Colombia regarding an earthquake, because it is not a frequent phenomenon in Bogotá.
“The epicenter was not in Bogotá, it was close to here, and what surprises me is that here, well, there is no protocol; people are not used to earthquakes. So, I hope everyone is okay here in Colombia, I send you a kiss. The scare has already passed,” she detailed.
In a second video, Laura Flores explained that she was heading from the south to the north of Bogotá to pick up her dog from the grooming salon and asserted that she had not observed any damage in the city.

Aylín Mujica was also in Colombia when the earthquake occurred.
The Cuban actress shared a video on Instagram in which she confirmed she was in the country during the quake. Her daughter, Violeta, was the one who explained how they lived through the experience.
“Very unexpected. I thought it was the wind, and suddenly my mom says, ‘But, Viole, look at how the lamps... the lamps are moving.’ And my mom: ‘It’s shaking.’ Honestly, I’ve never been through an earthquake and suddenly I say: ‘Could it be?’ and my mom: ‘Yes, it’s an earthquake.’ And she grabs my hand and tells me: ‘We have to go now,’ and I’m like: ‘Okay, let’s go.’ So we were looking for the stairs. Thank God we are on the fourth [floor]. It was a 7.4 earthquake. Thank God we are safe,” recounted Violeta.
"We are fine and safe," added Aylín Mujica.
The actress, whose son Mauro Menéndez recently passed away due to complications from pneumonia, is in Colombia due to her participation in the filming of Top Chef VIP.
