Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese striker, defended his fiancée, Georgina Rodríguez, after she received criticism regarding her physical appearance, particularly her weight.
Cristiano's response was shared by Georgina herself through an extensive text on Instagram.
The model, businesswoman, and influencer asserted that every summer her body becomes a topic of conversation and questioned who decides what the "correct" body is.
The post received thousands of messages of support, including one from Antonela Roccuzzo, the wife of Lionel Messi, who reacted to the businesswoman's message.
This is what Georgina Rodríguez said about the criticism of her body and the response she received from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Georgina Rodríguez responde a las críticas sobre su cuerpo
In an Instagram post, which has now surpassed 3 million likes and accumulated more than 60,000 comments, Georgina responded to those who criticized her physical appearance, particularly her weight, after paparazzi photographed her during her vacation with Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the message, the businesswoman asserted that her body will continue to change over time, as happens with all women, and that this represents that she is still living.
"My body will change, as will every woman's. And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean that I am still living," she wrote.
Georgina explained that she and Cristiano Ronaldo want to teach their children that "the value of a person can never depend on a physique nor on the opinion of strangers." Additionally, she expressed feeling proud of the footballer for the values he transmits as a father and as a man.

In her post, Georgina also shared that she talked with Cristiano Ronaldo about the comments she was receiving regarding her physique, as she admitted that, since she makes her living from her image, those criticisms did worry her.
"I was discussing it with Cris and I told him: 'I'm worried that now they are calling me fat, because I live off my image'."
The influencer explained that the Portuguese striker responded that she did not live solely off her image and reminded her of all the aspects that make her who she is.
"You don't live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a great body, a mother, a good person, successful, and who lives life with love. What more do you want? It's normal that they are jealous of you. And we talked about many other things."
Following the response from her fiancé and father of her six children, Georgina added: "Sometimes we all need someone to remind us of what really matters."
The influencer also questioned beauty standards and asserted that she trains because it benefits her in various physical and mental aspects. She does not do it to lose weight.
"The funny thing is that this happens every summer. Every year my body makes news again. And then I ask myself... Where is the standard? Who decides what the 'correct' body is? Do we really still think that happiness has a size? I train because it makes me happy. Because I'm passionate about it. Because that hour in the gym is one of the best moments of my day. It gives me health, peace of mind, discipline, energy, and well-being. It has never been a fight to lose weight; it has always been a way of taking care of myself," she explained.
Georgina concluded her message by asserting that for her, success consisted of living in peace and enjoying the people she loves.
"For me, true success has never been fitting into a standard that no one knows who invented. True success is living in peace. Surrounding myself with the people I love. Enjoying my family and friends. Taking care of my health. Laughing. Learning. Living."
