During a broadcast of the program Hoy, Galilea Montijo expressed her annoyance at the comments circulating on social media about her appearance and asserted that many people offer opinions without knowing what actually happened.
"Ever since social media has existed... you can't please absolutely anyone... It has happened to me lately that I see every critic of my face as if they were with me, right? Without knowing what actually happened," she commented.
The host explained that the change in her face goes beyond an aesthetic procedure, as a nerve was affected and, therefore, her doctors are treating her as if she had facial paralysis.
"I'm going to do a podcast with my doctor explaining what actually happened to me, and it goes beyond an aesthetic procedure. They are actually treating me as if I had paralysis in my face due to a nerve that was touched. I'll tell you more later, but people talk without knowledge," she pointed out.

The presenter also questioned the fact that some professionals, especially surgeons, comment publicly on her case without knowing the details, as she considers that by doing so, they lack professional ethics.
"That's the worst part of all, where I say, where is the ethics of the surgeons? If you see one of those surgeons talking about me, don't go to him because he will talk about you the same way."
Likewise, she lamented that a large part of the criticism comes from other women, as she wondered where the sisterhood and the idea that one should not talk about other people's bodies went.
"Where is the sisterhood?... I asked myself, where is this part where women nowadays don't talk about bodies?... We are very harsh with ourselves," she expressed.

Weeks ago, Galilea Montijo clarified that she did not undergo cosmetic surgery, but rather a non-invasive procedure to lift one of her eyebrows, and explained that she was still in the recovery process.
"They fixed my little eyebrow. This wasn't surgery as such, but they lifted this eyebrow for me," she commented.
Her statements did not prevent users on social media from pointing out that her face looked strange, as it appeared, according to them, that when she spoke, her mouth went to the side, just like an eye.
