Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte surprised passengers on the London Underground by riding the Elizabeth line together this weekend.
A video shared on social media showed the Princess of Wales and her 11-year-old daughter sharing an apparently ordinary trip, a scene that sparked curiosity about how William and Kate seek to bring their children closer to everyday life experiences, despite being part of the most famous royal family in the world.
According to a witness cited by Hello! magazine, mother and daughter went on a commoner's outing with all the necessary security measures; the staff accompanying them tried not to draw attention.
The source assured that both tried to make the journey as normal as possible and that they even exchanged a few words with passengers sitting in front of them.

The witness described Kate, 44, and Charlotte as relaxed and smiling during the trip. They also noted that the Princess of Wales checked her phone for a few minutes while chatting with her daughter.
Charlotte, for her part, seemed surprised by such an everyday environment, according to the publication, as she had apparently never had a similar experience traveling on public transport.
“Catherine had her phone with her and looked at it for a couple of minutes. They seemed very relaxed, chatting and smiling. They looked very happy,” the informant stated.
The two got off at Tottenham Court Road station with their discreet security team behind them. Kate wore an elegant seasonal outfit in shades of maroon and brown heels, while Charlotte wore navy blue tights and flats.
Although it has not been confirmed what their destination was or the purpose of traveling among users like anyone else, their appearance drew attention because it was a public outing on public transport, far from the usual image of official trips that the royal family usually has in their private luxury vehicles.
It is not the first time that Kate and William have used this London Underground line as the future King and Queen. In 2023, the couple traveled together to Tottenham Court Road and later went to the Dog and Duck pub in Soho to thank the people who had worked during King Charles III's coronation weekend. That trip also showed a more informal side of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Before marrying William, Kate used to take public transport and, in March 2013, she acknowledged that she missed riding the Underground.
