Following the dramatic match in which England knocked Mexico out of the 2026 World Cup with a 3-2 score, several moments from the game went viral, touching the hearts of fans who never lost faith.

One of those memorable moments was the gesture that striker Jude Bellingham made toward Gilberto Mora, "Morita," the 17-year-old who made Mexicans believe they could reach glory as they continued advancing in the tournament.

Videos have been circulating on social media of the Xolos de Tijuana player crying alongside his teammates after losing to the English national team; in the clip, Jude approaches and comforts Morita with a hug and words of support.

When Mora asked for his jersey, Bellingham agreed and asked for his in return, ending their interaction with a jersey swap and a second hug before heading to the locker rooms.

Beyond receiving comfort, Gil Mora made his dream come true: sharing the pitch with Jude Bellingham, whom he considers his idol. It is worth mentioning that the 17-year-old said in an interview prior to the World Cup that he wanted to play with the Englishman: "Name someone you would want to play with for the rest of your life," he was asked, to which Gil responded without hesitation: "Jude Bellingham."

Bellingham did not only console Morita; minutes after the final whistle, he approached other El Tri players to shake hands and hug them, including Julián Quiñones, Édson Álvarez, Raúl Jiménez, and Fidalgo.

After the match ended, the Real Madrid star, who made the difference in the Mexico vs. England match with two consecutive goals, acknowledged the capabilities of the Mexican National Team on the pitch and said he was happy to have played at the legendary Estadio Azteca.

"The Mexico players are incredible, that center-midfield [Erik Lira and Édson Álvarez] runs a lot, they are very strong, they play with a lot of heart. It was a pleasure to play here at the Azteca against them," the English star commented in Spanish.

Jude Bellingham's England will now prepare to face Erling Haaland's Norway in the 2026 World Cup quarterfinals, after Norway eliminated Brazil with a 2-1 score.
