Through his official X account, Mbappé described the legislator as a person who is "despicable and unworthy of her office" and assured that he will not allow racism to be normalized on or off the field.
His message quickly went viral and generated thousands of reactions from internet users, who showed their support for the French striker in light of this unpleasant moment.

After the match between France and Paraguay, Celeste Amarilla, a Paraguayan senator for the Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA), published two messages on X with racist and derogatory expressions directed at Kylian Mbappé.
In her posts, she questioned the French footballer's origin, hurled insults about his physical appearance, and even claimed that the Paraguayan players should have attacked him at the end of the match.

"I will never allow people like her to have the freedom to spread their hate and racism all over the world."
In another part of his post, he wrote:
"You are a despicable woman and unworthy of your office. You do not represent Paraguay, that country that has poured out passion and honor throughout the entire competition. Because of your recklessness and your blatant racism, the whole world has already forgotten the trajectory and historical effort that your players achieved during this World Cup, giving way to an incompetent woman who gives the worst possible image of her country."
