The Mexico City Unemployment Insurance aims to provide temporary income while beneficiaries seek to re-enter the labor market. “The Unemployment Insurance constitutes a social protection system aimed at unemployed persons, residents of Mexico City (...) who, for reasons beyond their control, are separated from their formal employment temporarily or permanently,” reads the official government website.

- Carta Bajo Protesta de decir verdad.

The process is generally carried out as follows:
Step 1. Meet the requirements; for more information, check segurodedesempleo.cdmx.gob.mx.
Step 2. Create your personal and non-transferable Llave CDMX-Expediente account on the llave.cdmx.gob.mx website.
Step 3. Register your application through the “Unemployment Insurance” Social Program platform at the following link: tramites.cdmx.gob.mx/desempleo, where you must attach your original, legible, and complete documentation without any exception, in PDF, JPG, or PNG format.
