is the fifth richest man in the world in real-time, according to estimates by Forbes magazine, and even with more than 207 billion dollars to his name, he is unwilling to leave an inheritance to the three daughters he shares with his wife, Priscilla Chan.

According to available reports, the founder of Meta and his wife refuse the idea of bequeathing the empire they have built together in recent years to their daughters, and instead, they have other plans: to donate 99 percent of their fortune and company shares. But to whom? Or to what?

The couple reportedly agreed when their firstborn, Max, was born in 2015 that their family legacy would be destined almost entirely for various charitable and social causes that will make "a better world" in the future.

In their Letter to Max, the Zuckerberg-Chan couple wrote to their daughter that there is no better gift a parent can give their children than a better life and a better future, even beyond money; they also pointed out that they have a moral commitment to future generations.

"We want you to grow up in a world better than ours. We will do everything we can to make this happen, not only because we love you, but also because we have a moral responsibility to all children in the next generation," the couple says in the letter available on the Chan Zuckerberg charitable organization's website.

The couple pledged to donate their fortune and 99 percent of their Meta shares over their lifetime and, in addition, focus their efforts on building a better future, eradicating diseases, unlocking human potential, and promoting universal equality.

"Today, your mother and I are committing to spend our lives doing our small part to help solve these problems (...) We understand you will have many questions about why and how we are doing this. We feel a great responsibility to leave a better world for you and all children. We wish you a life full of the same love, hope, and joy you give us. We are eager to see what you will bring to the world," the letter reads.

In an interview she gave to the Today Show after the birth of her firstborn, Priscilla Chan revealed that they made the decision about what they would do with their money when they welcomed "that little being you love like crazy, more than you ever imagined" and wished for her to grow up in a better place, which they would try to build with the money they have.

"You have so many hopes and dreams for that child, and that drives me to work harder and invest now to ensure that the future is what all our children deserve," Chan noted.

In addition to not giving them the fortune, the couple created an education and upbringing model with which they want to keep their daughters "grounded," without giving them everything they want, and through which they teach them to work, to have responsibilities, to do household chores, and to have a life like anyone else in the world.
