According to reports, Barron was mentioned in a video broadcast by Iranian state television in which a threat against his life was allegedly issued, and an alleged $10 million reward was mentioned in exchange for his life or precise information leading to him.
U.S. media outlets such as Radar Online and CNN point out that the three-minute footage claims the young man is being watched by Iran and that his movements over the last few months have been recorded at various locations, including his school, where he lives, and his activities with family and friends.
Despite this information, there is no evidence that Iran has a plan already in place to attack Barron or end his life, nor is there information on who is offering the $10 million bounty for his head.
The video claimed there were efforts for Iran to infiltrate the United States Secret Service.
However, part of the content shown apparently included AI-generated images, including a depiction of an alleged hacker in front of a computer, which has raised doubts about the veracity of several of the claims.
The news regarding a possible attack against the son of Donald and Melania Trump comes amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran due to the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East.
Iran has Ivanka and Melania Trump in its sights
Barron Trump's security is not the only one compromised so far. It is known that the safety of the Trump family has been a focus of special attention since U.S. authorities reported threats linked to Iran against the then-candidate and subsequent President Donald Trump, as well as against other former officials of his administration.
A few months ago, it was reported that Iran was also looking for ways to access information about Ivanka Trump and her family in order to assassinate them; shortly after, it was learned that Melania Trump had also been investigated and that her movements were being tracked to carry out an attack.
At the time, a propaganda video was released by Iran against the First Lady of the United States titled “How to Kill Melania Trump,” in which an assassination attempt via poisoning was detailed during an ordinary day in Melania's life, whether on the street or at the shops she frequents in New York.
That threat included a preview of what Iran was planning against Barron. At the end of the video about the First Lady, it was announced: “This is just the beginning. Barron Trump, we are waiting.”
