Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, stated on social network X, which he owns, that money does not bring happiness.
"Whoever said 'money can't buy happiness' really knew what they were talking about," wrote Musk on Wednesday on the platform he acquired in 2022 for $44 billion.

The post, accompanied by a sad face emoji, had reached more than 66 million views by midday Thursday.
The comments he received ranged from sympathy to mockery, and some advised Musk to turn to religion or philanthropy.
User @phlexyl sent him a message clarifying:
“Money can't buy happiness” is very subjective. You can't tell someone who is in prison because they can't pay a loan that “money can't buy happiness.” You can't tell someone who is watching a family member or friend die because they can't pay the hospital bill that “money can't buy happiness”....
His fortune is estimated at $668 billion, and at the end of 2025, shareholders of Tesla, the electric car company Musk runs, approved a compensation package for him that could be worth up to $1 trillion.
These amounts allow the magnate to pursue the dream of colonizing Mars, support the coffers of politicians like US President Donald Trump, and have more than a dozen children.
In addition to Tesla, Musk is the founder of the artificial intelligence startup xAI and the aerospace company SpaceX.
