The UNAM initiated a review of the undergraduate entrance selection process for the 2026-2027/1 school year, after Rector Leonardo Lomelí Vanegas instructed the preparation of a detailed report on the exams taken online and their results.
The decision seeks to analyze with academic rigor the development of the UNAM entrance exam, as well as the factors that could have influenced the performance of the applicants.

According to the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the report will include detailed information on the procedure applied during the Undergraduate Entrance Selection Contest and the results obtained by those who took the exam.
In addition, Leonardo Lomelí ordered the creation of a technical commission made up of university specialists from different disciplines, who will review the data from the report, the development of the exam, and the results of the admission process.
The objective is to identify any element that may have affected the performance of the applicants and to develop proposals that will allow for the strengthening and improvement of future selection processes.

The institution noted that the study will be carried out under technical criteria and with academic rigor, with the purpose of reinforcing the transparency and fairness of the entrance competition.

UNAM reported that it continues to attend to applicants who requested a review of their exam, as well as those whose participation was canceled during the process.
In the latter case, those who requested an appointment already have a date and time to personally learn about the evidence that supported the decision made by the university.

The institution indicated that the results of the analysis will be released shortly, once the work of the technical commission and the report requested by the rector are concluded.
