Who is Diego Sebastián Rosen and why did he kill Jonathan ‘Honas’ Meléndez? This question has been circulating on social media and in the media over the last few hours after it was announced that he had been detained by the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office for a mass homicide committed in a residential area of Atizapán on Tuesday night.
Diego ‘N’ was arrested hours after the murder of the Camilo Séptimo keyboardist, as well as his wife Ana Paula, who was four months pregnant, his three-year-old daughter, and their domestic worker.
So far, versions suggest that the alleged culprit may have committed the crime for a flash drive containing information on 30 million pesos in bitcoins, in addition to cash in dollars. But...

Who is Diego Sebastián Rosen and what connection did he have to ‘Honas’?
Diego Sebastián Rosen Ferlini, 51, was a business partner of Jonathan Meléndez, with whom he ran vacation rental businesses in various destinations, including Valle de Bravo and Acapulco, linked to a tour company called Nomad Adventures.
The man is of Argentine origin and was born on March 26, 1975, according to information available so far.
Data released on the internet reveals that the suspect was naturalized as a Mexican citizen by the National Population Registry (Renapo) in 2001. He supposedly does not have strong ties to his country of origin and has lived in Mexico for years.
His closeness to Meléndez likely served to facilitate his entry into the residential complex where the musician lived with his family and where the mass homicide occurred on Tuesday night.
Journalist Carlos Jiménez (C4 Jiménez) revealed that Diego ‘N’ allegedly entered the property with the goal of searching for a flash drive containing information on 30 million pesos in bitcoins. After the situation spiraled out of control with the musician's family, he killed them one by one; a child between five and six years old survived the massacre by hiding under a bed.
Following the crime, accusations began to emerge on social media against him and his wife, identified as Paola Mandri Figueroa, also a partner in the tourism company, for fraud amounting to between 300,000 and 400,000 pesos for tourist services that were not fulfilled for their clients.
A victim of the alleged fraud explained to Radio Fórmula: “We filed the complaint because it seems unfair to us. My family and I were going to celebrate a week in Acapulco and we were defrauded out of a very large sum.”
According to the testimony, the full rental of a property in Acapulco was paid for a weekend for a large family, but the victim states that after the payments, Diego ‘N’ stopped answering messages.
So far, there are no official details shared by the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office, which is the agency handling the case of his arrest and the investigation into the murder of the keyboardist and his family.
