TV Azteca and Grupo Salinas issued an official statement following the controversy generated by the comments of host Pedro Sola, who sparked a wave of criticism on social media after making statements about poisoning dogs and shooting their owners during a broadcast of the program Ventaneando.
Through a statement titled "Allies of animals: Our permanent commitment," both companies asserted that the expressions recently made "do not reflect what we promote as an organization" and reiterated that they maintain a firm commitment to the protection and welfare of animals.

In the statement, TV Azteca and Grupo Salinas noted that for years they have promoted initiatives to encourage respect for animals and have provided space to organizations, foundations, and citizens dedicated to their protection.
"At TV Azteca and Grupo Salinas, we firmly believe in animal protection and respect for all living beings," the document states.
Likewise, the company recalled that it has documented cases of animal abuse and has opened its platforms to make visible the work of activists and organizations dedicated to animal welfare.

The statement also makes direct reference to the controversy generated in recent days, although without mentioning Pedro Sola by name.
"Recent expressions, contrary to these values, do not reflect what we promote as an organization. For this reason, a public apology has been offered, assuming with responsibility that those words did not represent that commitment," the company indicated.
With this, TV Azteca made it clear that the host's statements do not represent the institutional position of the television station or Grupo Salinas.
