Cristian Castro could become a student at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) after finishing his high school studies: the singer boasted that he obtained regulated admission to the prestigious institution, just as it faces strong controversy over the administration of the control exam for undergraduate entrance.
The “Azul” singer could not hide his excitement, as he will soon celebrate his high school graduation with his loved ones, which took him more than two years to finish and which he said he was tempted to abandon because it was not easy for him; however, his teachers encouraged him to complete his studies.
In a meeting with the media after his last concert at the Auditorio Nacional, the 51-year-old celebrity shared details about his PrepaW graduation ceremony (to be held on August 12), and it was then that he revealed the next step in his academic training.
“She is going to have a dinner for me there at her house. We are going to cut a flower from her garden,” the artist shared in a statement to media outlets like Sale el Sol; he also expressed that his mother, Verónica Castro, will be his godmother and will host a dinner at her home to celebrate him.
But what caused the most stir was when he mentioned that he would be studying at UNAM: “I am happy from the heart because it is affiliated with UNAM and they give me direct admission, so see you there at UNAM,” he said.
That is how the “No podrás” singer revealed that the school where he studied is affiliated with UNAM, allowing him to continue his university studies through the mechanism known as Regulated Admission.
The news sparked conversation on social media because it coincides with one of the most controversial moments in the admission process to the prestigious institution, after it determined that around 58,000 applicants must retake the control exam in person following the detection of irregularities and suspicions of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the online test.
